Last month I celebrated my first “birthday” and I couldn’t be happier and feel more alive. I had tried to quit drinking so many times before on my own always to end up drunk and feeling out of control not too long after. The longest I lasted on my own was three weeks before a relapse.

My therapist was so intuitive and really listed to me. She didn’t judge me and really helped me work through my issues, at my own pace in a safe environment. She helped me discover the issues that I was trying to mask with alcohol by really addressing those. During recovery at the alcohol rehab and substance abuse program I started to feel more like myself, stronger, more trusting, it was an amazing experience.

I was in treatment with people of all different walks of life, but yet we all had a bond that was unmistakable. On hard days the clients in the substance abuse rehab program helped me and on good days they helped me celebrate myself and my progress in getting back to myself before alcohol took over.

There were days that I didn’t want to do it anymore, but with the help of my therapist at the drug rehab center and the other clients I made it through and now can say that I am recovered.

This was the hardest journey I have ever undertaken in my life. I am now sober, proud and know that I will never go back to alcohol again. I am actually living life now. I don’t regret the time I wasted being drunk, but reflect on where I have been and where I am going in the future.

Thank you to the drug rehab program, for saving me.

When you start down the road to find drug rehab in Tennessee for a close friend or family member, you’ll soon find that there are many different types of addiction treatments programs and locations that administer them. They include detoxification medical centers, outpatient counseling, short-term inpatient treatment clinics and long-term residential treatment facilities that rival small hospitals being used to detoxify patients and also provide followup therapy in one place. Tennessee drug rehab offer addiction treatment programs which are generally referred to as “medical model” drug rehabs. These Medical Models often use substitute drugs in the treatment process. This basically means that they prescribe drugs to the individual to get the person off drugs. Much controversy has arisen from this drug substitution method since the person addicted and their loved ones actually sought to get the individual drug free as an end result and now they are faced with the drug patient leaving this type of program with another expensive and again potentially dangerous but now legal drug addiction habit. These client/patients are off the illegal drugs but have simply swapped their drug of choice to a legal prescribed equivalent. Their treatment consists of Anti-depressant drugs, methadone, Suboxone and other drugs. They then continue with the new habit of using these drugs and feel no regret in relying on these substitute drugs to maintain their false induced “sobriety” upon exiting these programs.

You will lose a lot of things in your life once you become addicted to drugs. You are not only letting go of your job but also the people you love most at the same time. More importantly, you will be losing your chance to get a better future as well. Thus, if you know someone who is addicted to drugs or any illegal substances, it is vital that you sign them up to a drug rehabilitation program.

There are so many reasons why undergoing treatment in a drug rehabilitation center is far more effective compared to the success that you will get if you would do this with your family. First and foremost, the addict will be in an environment free from drugs and other people who may influence them to go back to his old habit. Even though there are inevitable times that he would be tempted to use the illegal substance again, they will have no way to gain access to these drugs. Once these withdrawal symptoms happen, there will be professionals who will do their job and would help the patient to get over these as well.

At the same time, the patients inside the long term drug rehab centers can also get support from the counselors within the facility. They will be able to embrace a different point of view and would realize that there is so much that life could offer if they would not use drugs.

Texas, Texas, Texas the second largest state in the U.S. Is a fantastic state to do drug rehab in.

There are lots of fun attractions in Texas like horse back riding, concerts, good shopping and great dining. The food in Texas is one of my favorite types of food. It is called Tex-Mex and it is a mix between Mexican and Southern food. There are a lot of beans, chips and salsas involved.

The climate in Texas is also a nice one. It is very dry and hot. Its good that’s its dry and hot instead of being humid and hot, humidity is definitely not something I enjoy.

Doing drug rehabs in Texas is a good idea since Texas is full of space. Doing drug rehab in an environment that is full of space is very calming and pleasing. Imagine having a room in a Texas drug rehab center that has an unobstructed view of a huge field filled with blooming grains and flowers. How nice does that sound? Sounds pretty refreshing doesn’t it?

The thing that I love about Texas is that you get the best of both worlds. You have the beautiful and busy city life but then you can also have the very peaceful country life. You could have an apartment in a huge city like Houston and then have a country ranch in the country land. On the weekdays you could spend your days in the city and on the weekends come home to your ranch in the country.

You could do drug rehab in a country area or a city area. I would recommend the country one since it is way more relaxing. You don’t have to worry about there being any distractions or any unwanted sounds. The country drug rehab option would include lots of being outside, getting some fresh air and plenty of sunshine. What better way to get over your drug addiction than out in the Texas sun?

To summarize, Texas drug rehab is a grand idea. It will give you a great opportunity to get away from your hectic life and take a breather for a bit. Doing a drug rehab is best and most effective if done in an environment where you are totally relaxed and don’t have anything to stress about. Country places are great for such things and bring a lot of calm into your life. So next time you question yourself where you should do your drug rehab think TEXAS!

Some people have the misunderstanding that alcohol is not a drug and that it is not very harmful to the body. This is not true. Alcohol is a drug and it is very harmful to your body. Alcohol addictions are exactly as bad and sometimes even worse than drug addictions. Since it is easier for the common person to get his hands on alcohol rather than normal drugs.

When you have someone that is addicted to alcohol things can get pretty ugly. Alcohol drug treatment is a must to get a person off of their addiction to alcohol. Alcohol drug treatment is the solution to handling a person’s problem with being addicted to alcohol.

A person that is addicted to alcohol will mostly likely not have the realization on their own that they need help and that they need to go to a drug rehabilitation center. It will take work and persuasion from a friend or family member to get the addict to attend one of these centers. This work and persuasion is worthwhile, because after the addict has done a drug rehabilitation he will be free of his addiction and can have his life back.

People who are addicted to alcohol made a wrong decision to even start drinking. But what is done is done. There is no undoing the action. But there is a way to fix what was done and that is by receiving alcohol drug treatment. Everything and anything in this world can he handled and fixed. It is just a matter of willingness. How willing are you to help someone handle his or her problems and how willing is that person to really try and change for the better.

One thing that can happen is that once an addict decides to get clean and do a drug rehabilitation program he can become impatient to get done with the program. Inpatient drug rehab is the way to fully overcome and handle an addiction. Handling an addiction and deciding to go to rehab is a process that takes patience and time. The addict needs to realize that it will take a little bit to fully be over alcohol. It is not something that happens overnight. When an addict starts at a drug rehabilitation program it is best if he has a family member or friend visit him often to make sure that he is doing ok and getting through the program successfully.

Cocaine, a highly addictive drug, often referred to as white powder or coke is a drug that is usually consumed by separating into lines, snorting through the nose and smoking. The effect of the cocaine starts within 15 minutes. However, those addicts who cannot wait this long to get the pleasure of cocaine intake it by injecting it through the skin to get the pleasure in seconds.

The effect usually depends on the amount of cocaine the addict intakes, the method used to consume it, and purity. Once intoxicated by cocaine, the effect can last for hours and during this phase the addict will feel euphoric and lively. Prolonged use will increase the craving and this will only increase the desire to intake higher doses of cocaine to get the same effects.

Cocaine stimulates and causes a rise in the levels of dopamine (neurotransmitter of the brain) and thereby causes the feeling of pleasure. If a cocaine addict tries to stop his addiction, he will go through withdrawal symptoms such as depression, nervousness, tiredness and reduced appetite. All this will only make the addict crave for more cocaine.

The health complications that are caused due to cocaine addiction are plenty. Headaches, nausea, gastrointestinal problems are common among cocaine addicts. Addict who snort cocaine for a long time can damage the internal areas of the nose. The supply of blood and oxygen to the nose is also hampered severely as the drug constricts the blood vessels.

Cocaine abuse can also cause increase in blood pressure, increase in heart rate and rise in the body temperature. Long-term health complications include paranoia, heart attack, dilates pupils, kidney illness, renal failure, failure of the respiratory system and strokes. The chances of contracting such health problems are doubled when overdosed or consumed with other drugs like alcohol or heroin.

Finding an effective cocaine drug rehab can help a person overcome his or her addiction to cocaine addiction.

Nearly 24 million people across different states of US require some form of treatment from drug and alcohol addiction. Hence, we can find plenty of drug and alcohol rehab centers coming up to help the patients to get rid of their addiction. Addiction to substance has known to ostracize people for a long time, even after the patients have successfully got over their addiction. Finding a job after completing the treatment for addiction is one of the toughest moments of the life.

Employers spend billions of dollars every year in health insurance for providing medical assistance for substance abuse. Hence, you may not find it easy to get your previous job back after you have recovered from your addiction.

If you are finding it difficult to get a new job after your recovery program, you should try getting transitional jobs. Once you have done a couple of transitional jobs, you will gain confidence and even find out a new career field.

Depending on your situation and work experience, you may have to go for lower level job as compared to the one you had before. An employer may be reluctant in providing a job to a person with a history of substance abuse. Employers who are considered about on-the-safety may feel reluctant to hire a person such a background. If this happens to you, do not be discouraged.

Do not get bogged down because of rejection. Even a person who has never been addicted to substance can get rejected many times. Always have a positive outlook whenever you got to find a job. Just like you overcame your addiction even though it took some time, same way you will get a good job by keeping patience for some time.

Alcoholism can be cured.

At the University of Washington, an experiment was conducted to find out how drinking at young age could lead to alcohol addiction and influence decision-making abilities negatively later in life. Here is the experiment which was conducted in a time span of 20 days:

Researchers injected gelatin shots of alcohol in a group of young aged rats whereas another group of rats belonging to the same age group were treated with nonalcoholic treats.

After few weeks when the young rats became adult, the rats were given two choices of food after performing respective activity. A lever was provided which if pushed, it threw out two sugary treats and there was another level which when pushed allowed the rats to access four yummy pellets or no food.

The rats that were given gelatin shots of alcohol could not make a rational decision and ended up pushing the lever that provided them with no food.

The rats that were given nonalcoholic treats consistently pushed the lever that gave them access to food.

Since the experiments were carried out to learn the affects of alcohol on human teens and adolescents, it was concluded that early abuse of alcohol in life can lead to bad decisions in life when they attain adulthood.

The area present in the brain that is responsible for decision-making keeps on developing during adolescence to adult age. This is the reason why alcohol consumption at young age can influence the ability to make constructive decision later in life. The brain of a teen can get influenced permanently due to consumption of alcohol.

Dr. Karen Norber who had carried out the experiment advised that if the frequency and intensity of alcohol consumption during the young age can lead to long-term effects when they drink alcohol in their adulthood.

Alcoholism can be cured.

Alcohol addicts know how difficult it is to stay away from alcohol. Most people who have tried to quit alcohol addiction at one shot may have never achieved success. A good way to quit your alcohol addiction is to do it gradually until you achieve complete control over addiction.

Here are some easy steps through which you can win the battle against alcohol addiction:

Start off by drinking less alcohol. This can be done by setting a limit, for instance, you need to commit yourself that you will consume only one two beers daily

Since stopping alcohol addiction is a slow process, you need to set up goals. You can start off by making several short-term goals such as getting rid of alcohol bottles from your home or stop mixing with friends who are addicted to alcohol.
The family members should provide complete support to the addict during the treatment process. If your loved one is addicted to alcohol, you should not try to hide it but seek immediate help for treatment. If the addict does not get his dose of alcohol easily, he can turn violent and create ruckus at home and there will be no peace left. In such a situation, you will not able hide his addiction from the public.

During the treatment, the addict should not feel lonely. Hence, the involvement of the family members is important so that they can provide the addict with the much needed love and affection.

The treatment procedure followed for an individual can be different to other addicts. Individual counseling will help in determining why he took up alcohol addiction. After a certain point in individual counseling, the addict can be suggested to go for family counseling. During the family counseling, both the addict and the family members get opportunity to share and express their thoughts and concerns.

Depending on the level of addiction, the addict may be required to continue his treatment at the alcohol rehab center for a period of time. This way the addict can remain detached from his addiction without experience much problem during the withdrawal stage. After the treatment is over, the patient should remain in an aftercare program. Even though the addict is tempted to have alcohol, he will abstain from it because of the time he spent at the aftercare program.
