Those people who consume drugs to get temporary relief from stress or any other reason do not take the take up the consequences of drug abuse seriously even though they are well aware of it. Substance abuse has been one of the causes of death and the death count has been increasing in the recent past.
Two of the most commonly available drugs in our society include heroine (also known as opioids) and cocaine. Every year, throughout the world we hear news about cocaine and heroin trafficking through which we can understand how rampantly people are seeking for drugs.
The two drugs cocaine and heroin exercise their addictiveness via two different neurotransmitter systems that are located in the brain. That is why the medical treatment procedure that is used for treating cocaine and heroin addiction is quite different even though people are addicted equally to both of them.
Even though opium is related to drug addiction, it is now being used as a medicine to treat pain. It has shown significant results in treatment of polydrug abuse which mainly consists of cocaine and opiods. The drug named buprenorphine triggers and inactivates the areas on the nerve cells inside the brain where the opiates attach. It does a brilliant job in reducing the pain however; the risk of over dosage is less.
A recent study done by Granger Collection, New York. Clinical studies has shown that buprenorphine has successfully helped in treating addiction to heroin and is also believed to have benefits over methadone as it is safer. It was also found that buprenorphine also reduced addition to cocaine among those people who are addicted to cocaine and heroin.
Even though new medicines are being found to treat drug addiction, it is very important to advice an addict to join a drug rehab center to positively get rid of his addiction and lead a normal life free from substance abuse.

I totally disagree to give drugs at all for addiction rehab. For example the methadone practice did not work at all!! The result is just an addiction to methadone! The problem is not getting solved. The answer to drug abuse is a non drug recovery procedure.

It is never good to give an addict another drug to get rid of his addiction. A pill is never the answer. We do drug rehab without drugs and it works like a charm.
