There are a lot of bad effects that result from becoming addicted to alcohol. The problem is that people that used to not be addicts to alcohol didn’t have enough data about the bad effects that would result, but now they are having a terrible time and wishing that they never even got started with alcohol. There are lots of alcohol addicts that don’t have faith in alcohol treatment or in treatment programs. Let me give you some idea of what bad effects result from being an alcoholic.
Bad effects from using alcohol include, not remembering conversations or commitments, blacking out, having health problems or getting injuries, losing interest in activities that you were formerly interested in, having legal problems, relationship issues and finance situations. These are just some of the most common bad effects; there are many more things that can happen from drinking excess amounts of alcohol.
Lets go into more detail of what the bad effects really cause in a person’s life. For example lets use the name Joe, Joe is a married man in his late thirties he has two kids, a nice house and his most treasured item is his yellow Porsche. Joe works at a construction company; he is part owner of the company. Joe starts having some trouble at work with his co-partner about new building sites, he starts getting really stressed out and starts going to bars at night and drinking the night away. Alcoholic drink after alcoholic drink. This starts to become his habit. Everyday after work he now goes to the bar and just drinks, drinks, drinks. He starts avoiding his wife and starting little fights with her. His kids ask him to come to their football game and he yells at them and says that he has more important things to do. He is now really starting to mess up his life. His job is going bad, he is missing making payments on the house, since he is using so much money for alcohol, his wife is completely upset with him and to top it off he crashed his Porsche into a brick building because he was driving while drunk. Joe is now completely addicted to alcohol and just spends his days fighting with his partner and his night drinking his sorrows away. Little does he know that the drinking is what made his life so miserable in the first place. But if you ask Joe, he will tell you that the reason he drinks is because his business partner is unfair and that life is just unfair and sucks. What Joe needs is alcohol treatment. He needs help. He needs to realize that drinking is what got him into the huge mess that he is now in.
Treatment programs are there for alcoholics to get sober and back onto track. Alcoholic treatment is what can get an alcoholic sober and for the alcoholic to stay sober. Sometimes drug intervention is necessary in order to start a drug detox.
Some people may think that if they are addicted to alcohol that they aren’t addicted to drugs so it’s fine. But the truth is that alcohol is a kind of drug. It is a very harmful substance that destroys certain tissues in the body. Alcohol can affect you the same way that drugs do. Being addicted to alcohol is a drug addiction. Alcohol is a drug, therefore being addicted to it makes is so that you are addicted to a drug. There are drug treatment programs that can and will help so that you can get rid of your alcohol addiction.
Knowing the effects that alcohol can and does cause is very important. Just remember that getting addicted to alcohol is not something that is fun and good. It is a very bad and harmful addiction that has ruined many lives. Even though alcohol addiction is bad and harmful there are still things that can be done to be at cause over it. There are so many different treatment programs that can help you get your life back.

Alcohol abuse causes over 100,000 deaths in the United States and Canada each year. It is the drug most commonly abused by children ages 12 to 17. Alcohol-related motor vehicle accidents are the leading cause of death in teenagers. People who drink alcohol are more likely to engage in high-risk sexual behavior, have poor grades or job performance, use tobacco products, and experiment with illegal drugs. Alcohol and drug use may be an unconscious attempt at self-treatment for another problem, such as depression.

In 2004 according to World Health Organization two billion people consumed alcohol annually worldwide and 76.3 million had alcohol-use disorders. About two million deaths each year and 4 percent of the total global burden of disease have been attributed to alcohol dependence and alcohol abuse.I am of the view that treatment for alcohol dependence benefits both patient and society. It improves patient health, productivity, and quality of life, while affecting the cost saving aspects. This a better initiative to share the cause and affects on this platform.

alcohol pretty much ruined my life. firstly, i had an accident while intoxicated, i had a pretty nasty cut on my back and broke my left leg in 3 places. after the accident, due to severe liver damage, i also contracted hepatitis. so if you want my advice, never drink a sip of alcohol again. i am currently into sports, sprint running and such, i feel better than ever. Alcohol can only do you harm.

I’ve had a bad experiences in my family because of alcohol. It broke up our families and even till now we’re still divided. Before I knew it my father was addicted, he didn’t even realize he was addicted until everything fell apart. Alcohol is great in moderation, but to go to it when things are looking down or not going the way you want it to be is low and is what forms these addictions in the first place. Just remember that someone is always thinking about you

I cannot really drink thanks to the fact that I have a genetic condition which makes inhibiting my liver extremely dangerous so it has kept me from drinking and I must say I’m quite happy about it. I’ve seen what hardcore drinking has done to some friends.

Driving under the influence is a serious health hazard. In the United States, for example, alcohol is estimated to play a role in 39 percent of vehicle-related deaths for the cost of $51 billion annually. This is a very informative post.

Not only do you make problems in your life you also add to the problems of friends and family who care about you. If you have a problem getting help is the best thing you can try to do for both you and the people you care about. Don’t let alcohol control your life.

It is sad the way alcohol can take over people’s lives. Humans need to be aware of the power this substance can have, and use their relationships with others to overcome this devastating affliction.

I worked in a bar for a few years and watched alcohol destroy the lives of both fellow employees who would come in and drink when they weren’t working, and customers I would see arrive around noon and spend the entire day drinking. Most of the employees ended up losing their jobs, and who knows what happened to the people who came in and drank for 10 hours a day every day.. Abusing alcohol can be a terrible thing.

Hi there,
I made the mistake of drinking as alcohol was rulling my life and driving wasnt even a problem I lost my freedom. our habits and patterns are formed from our up bringing and as a kid i was always being driven around by my mom and dad and thats where i learnt it my dad drank too so i ended up drinking to much before i even knew it.
That being said as an adult we are responsible for our behaviour. If you have a drink, never drive i was lucky, drink destroys lives, think of the possible negative consequences especially behind the wheel.

The safer alternative is marijuana. Here in Colorado it is legal for medicinal use and people have really been embracing it as an alternative to drinking.

One thing that is scary is that I think there are a decent number of people out there who are alchoholics but neither them nor their family consider them true alcoholics. I have a family member like this… he drinks at least 3-7 beers every day. It does not affect him negatively in terms of his actions (from what I can see), but he certainly is addicted.

Alcohol abuse generally refers to people who do not display the characteristics of alcoholism but still have a problem with it. These people are not as dependent on alcohol as an alcoholic is; they have not yet completely lost their control over its consumption.

Drug Addiction Story Elizabeth was just 13 years old when she had her first drink – this is a story of her descent into drug addiction. After that first drink, she found she liked the way it made her feel, so she had a couple of more. Before long, she experienced her first time being drunk, and the door had opened. This story of drug addiction usually paints a very similar picture from addict to addict. They share many aspects of their stories and they often share tragic endings. Elizabeth soon progressed to smoking pot after school, and before long she was using it every day often smoking before school as well. She found it difficult to find enough money to buy her marijuana, so she began taking money from her mother’s purse when she wasn’t looking. It made her feel horrible, so she smoked the pot to help her cope with her guilt. Drug addiction is no laughing matter. This isn’t a comedy; it’s more of a dramatic story about losing control once and not being able to regain it back. When Elizabeth was 17, a friend offered her some methamphetamine. By this time, she was known as a party girl and wasn’t about to tarnish that image. She snorted the white powder and was transformed. She became more than the life of the party; she became THE party. People wanted to be around her because she was so much fun. She couldn’t believe it took her so long to find this amazing high. Have you ever had someone tell you a story you just couldn’t believe? Well when you hear a story about drug addiction, it’s all too true and all too believable. It happens every day. At 19, Elizabeth had a baby. She wasn’t sure who the father was, and the baby was born addicted to crack. The doctors knew this and her son was taken from her before she was even released from the hospital. Despondent over this loss, when she did leave, she immediately sought out her dealer and got high. The story of drug addiction is painful to read and painful to tell. For those people who are affected by drug addiction, it’s almost excruciating. Twenty-one year old Elizabeth was arrested for possession of drugs for the third time in one month. She is put in jail to await trial. The judge orders her into a rehabilitation facility. She attends for the required treatment time and, once home, uses drugs after just two days. At 22, her parents are planning her funeral. She was found in her basement dead from a drug overdose. The story of drug addiction is often bleak and depressing. The tale is told over and over again all over the world. It’s sad because it’s preventable. Don’t let you or a loved one be another tragic story of drug addiction.

Alcohol is a truely addictive drug. The biggest danger for me is that so many people drink on a daily basis that it has become too acceptable to drink to excess. Many people do not treat alcohol as a drug and it is not seen to be as dangerous as smoking or other illegal drugs.
I have always been a binge drinker – drinking nearly nothing in the week and then drinking in excess at the weekend. I would then stop and recover. What I have found works for me now is drinking small amounts on a regular basis. This will not work for everyone though.
